Thank you so much for centralizing all this information, the research has been so time consuming. So many people will not bother to invest the time to do what you have done for all! Thanks again!

Are you interested in posting educational events or do you want to just keep to information? Events will have more limited appeal since only certain areas will be able to attend but it might be a useful resource. The reason I ask is because a group here in New Paltz, New York is hosting Alfie Kohn next week who is talking about (against) Common Core. If you are interested in the info, I can post a flyer. Regardless I will be passing on this website to people I know so they can become more informed regarding Common Core (and I have much more reading to do myself). Thank you for gathering so much information together in one place.

Jonie, your words are so appreciated and we are thankful for your support as a friend. My goal with this website is not to debate about CCSS and the teachings but the “BIGGER PICTURE”. There are many, many wonderful sites that provide such venue which have been out there at the inception of CCS and provide a treasure trove of information with robust debate. Our goal here is to expose the underbelly of the beast for what it really is and to try to inform those parents who have been so overwhelmed by this ugly beast because it is just happening now and parents are gravely concerned. As a parent all you want to do to is absorb as much as you can upon first hearing those words Common Core cross through your cortex. The layers just keep peeling away and this ominous hole gets bigger and bigger, deeper and deeper into an unknown abyss that we have NEVER before seen as parents or as a country. I am still overwhelmed and am learning every day. I still need the hard copy of “Stop the National Common Core Power Grab” (see it in our “Library” which was incorporated into a power point presentation by New Hampshire Families for Education) for notes when chatting with other parents. I cannot foresee me NOT having it with me when I am out and about engaging parents about the underbelly of this insidious beast called CCSS. There is just too much information to absorb in a short span of time. I can’t anyway. But am sure there are many who can, like my wonderful husband and yourself.

(Part 2) Our goal is to provide as many resources as I can (videos, websites, articles, links, and documents soon be uploaded to help guide those who want to take the next step and present it in front of THEIR local school board) but not lose the mission at hand and that is to educate one’s self and pass along what you have learned to other parents who are willing to listen without prejudice. We are parents, as Americans, and as a County need to share and dissect the beast with a tool that is sharp, precise, clear, and concise, along with seamless information to those who want to educate themselves in a way that is easy to digest. For those who decide to take this journey I hope in the coming days and weeks, and months this is what this website will bring and provide to those who search for the truth or as you put it so eloquently, “this is the quintessential website dedicated to curtailing Common Core Standards, not just in New York but in the United States of America”. WOW!! A big shoe to accommodate Jonie! There are countless people and organizations out there that have provided this, we are just placing it all together as times goes by in one central location. And quite honestly I don’t even know if that can be done because this beast is so vast, wide and over-reaching into every facet of four lives. Just watching TV you are hearing those words in commercials like the Exxon/Mobil one that came out recently along with Costco making a statement about CCSS, MSNBC making a public announcement that your kids are NOT your own conditioning the American minds of parent and the public in general. This must be stopped together as a nation if our children are to have a future and our county for that matter…

I followed to this site from the original Stop Common Core in New York site on Facebook. We all know how Facebook tries to change and complicate things; however, Yvonne has consistently tried to make it easy for us. With this website, she will continue to update and keep us informed, and she will make it seamless to navigate. For those of us that appreciate the aesthetics, she has provided that as well.
This is such an important cause because not only is it about our children's future, it is about ours as well. As we grow older, today's children will be running our businesses, our government, and our world so we really want to make sure that their education brings out the very best in them; one-size-fits-all is not a good fit for these purposes.
Simply put, this is the quintessential website dedicated to curtailing Common Core Standards, not just in New York but in the United States of America.
